The stone lion pair at the gate — one male, one female, one with a ball, one with a cub — has stood at the entrance to temples, palaces, and homes across China for two thousand years. This wax pair continues that tradition at a scale appropriate for a mantelpiece. Placed on either side of a door, they are still thought to work.
