This bust was sculpted from careful study of Plains Nations ceremonial regalia — the feathered headdress, the painted face, the bearing of someone who carries a people's history in their posture. It is one of the most technically demanding pieces in the collection; the headdress alone required three separate mould passes. It is made with the intention that it be taken seriously.
